We collect nothing
There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no crash reporting in the app. We run no server for it to talk to, so nothing about you or your viewing reaches us at any point. It is a short policy because there is very little to say.

Do I need my own server?
Yes. UNDERSTAIRS TV is a player and ships with no content of any kind — no media, no catalogue, no channels and no subscription. It needs a Jellyfin server that you run or are authorised to use. On first launch it shows a sign-in screen and can do nothing until you connect it to one.
Which devices does it run on?
Android TV and Fire TV devices running Android 5.1 or later, which covers the older Fire TV sticks that many newer apps have dropped.
Does it work away from home?
Yes, if your server is reachable from where the TV is. The app was built remote-first, so a server reached over the internet behaves the same as one on the same network. How you publish your server is up to you.
Is £1.99 really the whole cost?
Yes. One payment through the store, no subscription and no in-app purchases. Updates are free.
Is this made by the Jellyfin project?
No. UNDERSTAIRS TV is an independent third-party client. Jellyfin is named here only to say which servers the app can connect to.
